The collaborative exhibition Schatz GmbH x Love Game by HFBK students Hülya Braasch, Josie Overton, and Djoana Weimann offers an alternative to algorithm-based forms of dating, falling in love, and engaging in relationships in the digital space. Over the past decade, love has undergone a fundamental shift. Platforms like Tinder or Bumble increasingly resemble supermarkets, where relationships are commodified and compatibility is reduced to data points. Schatz GmbH x Love Game is a fictional matchmaking agency that explores desires and conceptions of love through questionnaires. The installation of their office in the HFBK opens its doors twice—on the first and last days of the show—inviting guests to step inside and discover something for themselves, whether it’s love or something entirely unexpected.
What is important to you in relationships? How is intimacy created? How can one show affection?
